Low Calories Healthy Snack Recipe for Healthy Diet, Apple Crunch Bars

This Apple Crunch Bars recipe is very healthy, if you looking some helathy and low calories snack, I think this recipe can be the choice. Not only you,your kid will love it too.

Ingredients to make Apple Crunch Bars recipe :
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups peeled chopped granny smith apples
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup margarine, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 8 ounces plain low-fat yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
Preparation and method to make Apple Crunch Bars recipe :
  1. Combine the flour, margarine and brown sugar in a bowl, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer.
  2. Reserve 2 cups of the flour mixture, and set aside.
  3. Add the baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt to remaining flour mixture; beat well.
  4. Add the egg whites, yogurt and vanilla extract; beat well.
  5. Stir in the apples.
  6. Press the reserved 2 cups flour mixture to the bottom of a 9 x 13 x 2-inch baking pan coated with cooking spray.
  7. Sprinkle walnuts over the flour mixture.
  8. Spread the apple mixture over the prepared crust.
  9. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 40 minutes
